70th Anniversary of The destruction of the Guards' Chapel
On Sunday the 22nd June 2014, the Guards' Chapel held a special service to commemorate 70 years since the bombing of the Royal Military Chapel (Guards' Chapel) destroying most of the building killing 124 people, and injuring 102. The destruction of the Chapel was the largest single incident of the V1 rockets by Hitler, before the realignment was introduced of the air defence capabilities to counter these terrifying weapons.
