Colonel (Retired) T Bonas
Regimental Adjutant, Welsh Guards
Music has always been one of the hallmarks of the British Army and none more so than with the Band of the Welsh Guards that has always formed a critically important part of the Regiment stretching back to the formation of both in World War 1. The strength of that bond continues to this day.
Music is particularly important to Wales and forms part of its strong heritage and culture. The Regimental Band absolutely capture this in their performances in all their various forms and its hugely talented musicians continue to display the inherent professionalism and enthusiasm that has always been a hallmark of the Band over generations.
The Regimental Band remain true Ambassadors for the Regiment whether it be on State Ceremonial and Public Duties, concerts and performing in Wales and elsewhere, at high profile events in the UK and abroad or within the Regiment to our Battalion, our Veterans and Families. They and their music are “uplifters” to our spirit and senses and always a joy to listen to the passion and energy they give to each and every piece of music they play.
